June Celebrations – The Kingston Barnes team have finished June 2018 on a high!

Congratulations to the whole team; with a special shout out to our stand out members who are celebrating various personal goals.

From left to right:

Frank Parker and Becca Elliott celebrate their 1st placements! Both Frank and Becca joined the Engineering team in April and two months in have successfully placed new candidates into exciting positions. They have both made a very promising start and we are looking forward to seeing big things to come from both of them!

Justin Reynolds, who heads up our Engineering Team is celebrating his 2-year anniversary with us! Within two years at Kingston Barnes, he has not only started a new division from scratch but he has grown it to be the successful team of 6 that it is today! Amazing work Justin, we are proud to have you onboard!

Sam Hewitt is our latest junior member of staff to be promoted from Resourcer to Senior Resourcer – congratulations!! We believe that it is important to promote from within; what better way to be at the top of your game than by working your way up through each level to get there. Sam has shown fantastic initiative and has proven himself as a vital member of the Construction team.

Sam Coggins, one of our Senior Consultants within freelance construction is celebrating his 1st year anniversary with us! Sam joined us last year to work in our white collar freelance team, helping find long term contract positions for Site Manager’s, Engineers and QS’s. Sam has really enjoyed the new area and is looking forward to the busy holiday period ahead.

It is so important to celebrate milestones and successes so well done to all – enjoy your champers!!

KB Annual Charity Golf Day 2018

KB Annual Charity Golf Day 2018 – We are delighted to confirm that this year’s Charity Golf Day took place on Tuesday 12th April 18 and was again a huge success despite the poor visibility due to the weather!

The day took place at Bristol and Clifton Golf Course with coffee/tea and bacon rolls served in the club house to start the day the teams were fueled up and ready to begin their shot gun start at 9.30am.

Eleven teams made their way around the course and even though the weather was not on our side a good day was had by all. The golden ball competition kept people on their toes, and competitive sides shone through on the longest drive and nearest the pin competitions.

We would like to shout out a big congratulations to Brandwells Construction Ltd who were the winners on the day with 106 points.

We would also like to give a huge thank you to all our teams, sponsors and Bristol & Clifton Golf Club for making this day possible. A lot of local companies made donations for the raffle which helped us raise more money through raffle ticket sales.

The main goal of these events is to raise as much cash as possible for Above and Beyond. Therefore, we are delighted to announce that with all of your generosity we have raised a fantastic £1,162.50 towards our £15,000 target.

The end goal is to purchase a state of the art incubator for premature babies on behalf of the charity Above and Beyond. The Incubator for babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital, provides much more visibility for parents to see their very small and sick baby than a normal incubator does. It also means parents can cuddle their baby without taking them off the ventilator. This contact and visibility is vital for both a baby and its parents during these early days and weeks of life and is a fantastic cause to be raising money for.

This event along with our other Charity events that we have held over the past year brings our grand total so far to £7,114.50 which brings us in just under the half way mark. This is a fantastic amount to achieve for our fund raising, so again thank you.

We look forward to seeing you all there again next year, and finger crossed the sun will shine?! Third time lucky!!

KINGSTON BARNES TEAM BUILD. Following on from a successful 2017 Kingston Barnes took part in a new team building experience. Despite the cold and dreary August afternoon we took to the Bristol docks to race and play a variety of games in Catamaran canoes.

It was a miracle that we all managed to stay in the boats. A big thank you to the Adventurous Activity Company for looking after us. The Adventurous Activity Company offers an extensive range of fun and exciting outdoor pursuits and intriguing team activities from our Bristol Harbourside base. Within walking distance of the city centre their activities are designed to be all inclusive with something for everyone. It is definitely something that we would all recommend.

At Kingston Barnes we believe that team building activities are extremely important. They improve employee relationships and give us all a better understanding into each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests. If you can achieve all of this whilst having fun then its a win win!
