Specialist recruitment consultancy Kingston Barnes has smashed its target to raise a total of £50,000 for charity by the end of 2025 and have exceeded this, raising £59,000 in total!

After completing this year’s annual Construction and Property Christmas Quiz in the heart of Bristol, the Box Rox challenge in July, and the annual five-a-side football tournament in September, Kingston Barnes are pleased to announce that they have exceeded their charity fundraising target of £50,000 and secured £59,000 for charity!

Giving back has been part of the Kingston Barnes DNA since its founding in 2013. Over the years, the team has supported incredible causes such as Children’s Hospice South West, The Lord Mayor of Bristol’s Children Appeal, The Imperial Sports Centre Charity, and many more, including funding a state of the art, life saving incubator for St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol.

Kingston Barnes’ first challenge of 2025 took place in July and saw the KB team take part in a brutal 25,000 rep boxathon in support of Empire Fighting Chance, a charity that has been transforming lives through boxing for nearly two decades!

Later on in the year, the all day five a side football tournament, hosted at Imperial Sports Club in Brislington in September, brought together 20 teams who each contributed a £250 entry fee. Additional funds were secured through a lively charity auction and raffle, with every penny going directly to The Imperial Sports Charity. This tournament represented another step towards Kingston Barnes’ ambitious goal of raising £50,000 for local charities by the end of the year after they raised a huge £6,000!

Ending the year with the Construction and Property Christmas Quiz, which took place last week and raised a huge £5,000 for The Lord Mayor of Bristol’s Children Appeal, the room was full of over 20 teams all battling it out to become quiz champions! A total of £12,000 raised this year alone!

The team at Kingston Barnes has taken on some serious challenges to help the recruitment agency reach its ambitious target. From cycling from England to France (on exercise bikes!), rowing the English Channel (on a rowing machine), and climbing Mount Everest (on a step master) to hosting five a side football tournaments, festive quizzes, and even a 24 hour run, the team has never shied away from a challenge in the name of fundraising. This commitment is reflected in its goal to hit a significant milestone: £50,000 raised for charity to date.

James Kingston, Director and Founder, said: “It was one of our goals to reach £50,000 in 2025. We were so ambitious about hitting the target that we even included it in the Kingston Barnes timeline that proudly sits in our HQ. We are thrilled to have raised a total of £59,000 for charity. I am so incredibly proud of our team and what we have achieved together. We’ve not only managed to help some amazing causes, but we have also given back, which is a huge part of our ethos at Kingston Barnes.”

A representative from Empire Fighting Chance said: “It was a pleasure to host the Kingston Barnes team at Empire Fighting Chance for the very first Rox Box Challenge!! The Kingston Barnes team gave 110% in both their challenge and their fundraising – where they have already raised over £1,000 to support the work of Empire Fighting Chance!”
