The Kingston Barnes Family Continues to Grow!!!

Wishing a very warm welcome to Charlie Higson who has just joined us.

Charlie has a wealth of experience recruiting for professional contractors and consultants throughout the UK and has spent the last year working as a client side Project Manager. So he really knows the industry inside and out!

Charlie has joined us to head up the Construction Consultancy Division and with his skills and knowledge, he is the perfect addition to the team.

James, our Managing Director is thrilled to see Charlie join…

“I’m delighted to have Charlie on board.

Having heard of Charlie by reputation and with his hands-on experience actually working for our clients he is the perfect fit to spearhead our Consultancy team.

We are in a very challenging market with economies around the world unsure about what lies ahead but as a business that always looks to the future, we are keen to pursue opportunities within our market and Charlie will continue to offer the level of service our clients  and candidates need to ensure in difficult times they have the right recruiter who can help them.”

 Welcome to the team Charlie!

The Incubator Has Landed

At the end summer of 2019 Kingston Barnes announced that we had completed our target to raise £15,000, for our chosen charity ‘Above and Beyond’. In little over a year we raised the funds to purchase an incubator for St Michael’s Hospital. Providing 24-hour lifesaving continuous care for new born babies. It was with great pleasure that we visited St Michaels hospital on 18th February to see the brand-new incubator in all its glory in the neo-natal unit. The incubator features a heated lid, weighing scales, an x-ray machine, family friendly baby data screen, colour changing downlights and the ability to significantly lower its height so that mothers in wheelchairs and siblings can see their new baby. It was such a heart-warming experience to visit the incubator and we are so proud to be a part of saving precious little lives.

Our team came up with all sorts of ideas and challenges to inspire the donations such as a charity golf day, a 78,000-metre rowing challenge (the length of the English Channel), Tough Mudder, two charity football tournaments, and a 24-hour Relay Challenge around Queens Square.

“We are absolutely thrilled we have managed to raise £15,000 to purchase the much-needed state-of-the-art incubator for St Michael’s. This has been a charity challenge very close to our hearts as many of our staff and family have had their children in the hospital and we have seen first-hand how vital an incubator can be in the life of premature babies and how much support it can bring to a family. It is such a huge achievement for us and the whole team have got involved to raise the total amount needed. We’ve really enjoyed the process and had some fun too. We’d like to thank everyone who supported us along the way and we look forward to the next challenge.”                      James Kingston

Kingston Barnes 24 Hour Relay Challenge

The Kingston Barnes team are pleased to announce our newest and toughest charity challenge yet. At 4pm on Thursday 29th August to 4pm on Friday 30th August we will embark on a 24 hour Relay Challenge. Each team member will be running laps, in pairs, around Queen Square for 24 hours continuously.

Our aim is to raise £15,000, for our chosen charity ‘Above and Beyond’, to buy an incubator for the neo-natal unit at St Michael’s Hospital. Providing 24 hour lifesaving continuous care for new born babies. Our previous fundraising efforts have seen us raise £8,500 and we are hoping to raise a further £2,500 towards our target for this challenge.

Please help us to raise the funds for this vital charity, donations are gratefully received and can be made via our ‘Just Giving page’ .

We hope to see you on the day cheering us on.

April Showering in Celebrations!

Kingston Barnes have had a storming first quarter and are pleased to announce a multitude of celebrations in April!

5,4,3,2,1….. Happy Anniversary!

April is a month to celebrate as we are thrilled to recognise 5 anniversaries for our team being a part of the Kingston Barnes family this week.

L–R: Peter Cawthorne – 2 years, Ruby Pomphrey – 4 years, Chris Johnston – 3 years,
Becca Elliott – 1 year and Chris Hallum – 2 years

Principal Consultant, Chris Hallum said: “I’ve really enjoyed my first 2 years at KB. It has flown by!

We have a great team here and everyone feels really excited about our 2022 vision and what the future holds”.

Associate Director, Chris Johnston said: “In my three years at Kingston Barnes I’ve seen us grow from a small agency to an award-winning market leader, with a brand-new office in a much sought-after location on Queen Square. We’ve doubled in size since I’ve joined and look forward to seeing what the next three years brings”.

Promotion Time!

Double Congratulations to Ben Williams and Dan Peace on their promotions to Consultants!

Both Ben and Dan joined Kingston Barnes in 2016 within a month of each other, neither had ever worked in recruitment before so were both starting with a blank canvass with a big challenge of learning the trade and the industries they specialise in.

L-R – Ben Williams – Construction Consultant, Dan Peace – Engineering Consultant)

Our MD James Kingston said “I couldn’t be happier to celebrate both Ben and Dan’s promotion. They have both over the last 2 ½ years worked so hard from stepping into recruitment as resourcer’s to now having the skills and ability to ensure they can autonomously offer a first-class service we pride ourselves on. Well done gents thoroughly deserved, cheers”.

Celebrating a Record 1st Quarter!

The Kingston Barnes Team enjoyed celebrating our best ever QTR1 by taking part in some special team building – Locked in a Room, followed by well-deserved dinner and drinks to follow.

Our Associate Director, Chris Johnston said;

“With talks of recession coming back and Brexit looming, for Kingston Barnes to smash their Q1 Budget is no mean feat. It’s a testament to the hard work put in by the consultants and because of this we celebrated in style. The whole office enjoyed “locked in a room” and it was our Construction Perm team who won a bottle of champagne for escaping first. Whilst the losing Engineering team had to do the forfeit of Tequila shots! A great time was had by all, and we look forward to rewarding and celebrating more success throughout the rest of 2019”
