Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes is currently recruiting for a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to work with one of our clients in the Avonmouth area. Our client is focusing on sustainability and ways to improve their products and processes in relation to the environment and sustainability.

Our plastics reprocessing facility in Avonmouth, Bristol will reprocess over 80,000 tonnes of plastic every year – more than 1.6 billion bottles, tubs, and trays – creating recycled raw material to return to the economy. Plastic recycling at the facility will save 126,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, the equivalent of taking over 67,000 cars off the road.
We have an opportunity in Avonmouth for a Quality Control Technician to join our team, working 38.5 hours per week, on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern to include nights.
The salary for this role will be circa £30,989.05 per year, inclusive of shift allowance and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.
The Role: Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, you will undertake sampling and analysis of polymer samples from incoming plastics through to recycled products within the recycling facility. You will also take process water and effluent samples from the water treatment plant on site.
You will have the opportunity to learn and use different laboratory analysis techniques from water testing to physical properties for different types of polymers. All training will be provided.
Working in line with production targets, you will be a motivated self-starter with a keen eye for detail. All results will need to be recorded in our electronic databases in an accurate manner.
The Candidate:
- Food manufacturing/production background
- Previous experience in a quality based role.
- An understanding of manufacturing processes and priorities.
- Knowledge of quality testing
- The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- IT skills including the use of MS Office
