Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge – Completed! On the 2nd May 2017 there were a lot of elated cyclists gathering under the beautiful Eiffel Tower.

Bristol to Paris

After 4 days of being in the saddle, some extreme weather conditions and covering 430km of ground, the Bristol to Paris cycle was completed and it was time to raise a glass!

Samantha Northcott took part in this challenge representing Kingston Barnes alongside 79 other cyclists. Their fundraising total currently stands at just over £154k; a staggering £54k over target!

As I am sure you agree this is a fantastic sum of money towards a fantastic cause. It goes to show that with a large amount of dedication, commitment and support along the way we can achieve anything we put our minds too.

This money will make a difference to the hundreds of local children suffering from traumatic brain injuries, brain tumours, epilepsy and cerebral palsy who are treated at Bristol’s Royal Hospital for Children every year.

Speaking to Sam after the challenge she said “it was a hugely demanding challenge, both physically and mentally and I have aches and pains in places that I didn’t know I could have! Getting to the Eiffel Tower though, seeing friends and family and knowing that we have made a significant different to the future of some really poorly children makes every second of it worthwhile. I feel so proud to have achieved something so amazing and that will always stay with me. I would highly recommend the challenge to anyone who is prepared to put the time into it. It really is worth it!”
