Our client is a well-established multi-award-winning regional building contractor working throughout the South-West. With an excellent reputation to work with and work for they are renowned for their honesty, integrity and collaborative approach. They have built up a wide client base that have repeated used their services time and time again. Based in Bristol they deliver new build and refurbishment construction projects from £500k to £10m in Education, Commercial, Healthcare, Leisure, and Residential.
Working closely with the work winning team the Bid Manager will manage the full preconstruction life cycle. Devise and implement the winning bid strategy by developing the most innovative, efficient and economically advantageous solution to deliver the tender requirements.
A key part of the role is to understand and challenge technical documents relating to design, construction, legal and financial elements of a bid and to devise a strategy to eliminate any risk whilst maximising delivery and successfully win projects.
Taking ownership of problems whilst being able to develop solutions in a practical manner go hand-in-hand with the ability to present and lead bid negotiations with internal staff, clients and representatives alike.
Evaluating and acting upon the tender information to develop an appropriate Bid Strategy with the other members of the Bid Team
Attend, and where necessary, lead any meetings with the Professional or Design teams during the Bid preparation process
Understand and interpret technical documents relating to design and construction, to be able to drive an integrated solution using all available resources to ensure the bid process is well coordinated.
- Previous main contractor experience
- Technical knowledge with understanding of the full construction process
- Proven experience of building strong relationships with clients within region
- Adaptability and autonomy Negotiation skills
- Commercial Awareness
- Good strategic vision and the ability to understand the clients` commercial needs.
