THE COMPANY

A market leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy with an established office in Bristol. Operating from multiple offices around the UK with nearly 1000 staff members, they provide Building Surveying, Cost Consultancy and Project Management services to a diverse portfolio of high-profile public and private sector clients; working on projects in Commercial, Retail, Education, Healthcare and Residential sectors.

They have appointed us  to identify a talented Project Manager to join their team in Bristol with a focus on delivering new build schools schemes for both local authorities and the ESFA. While the initial workload is within the education sector, moving forwards, you would be given the freedom to focus on the service areas that you enjoy the most, with huge scope to progress within the business to level of Associate and beyond.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The ideal candidate will be working in a similar role with a leading construction consultancy, ideally with around 2 – 4 years of experience specifically within the education sector with a strong preference for experience delivering schools projects for local authorities. You should have experience delivering both new build and refurbishment schemes in excess of £5 million in value and have demonstrable experience delivering public sector procurement processes. We are also welcoming applications from strong candidates with experience delivering construction projects within the public sector or highly regulated environments.

This role will ideally suit an experienced Project Manager, from a consultancy background, who is keen to progress their career, alternatively you could currently be working as a Building Surveyor or as a Site/Project Manager for a main contractor, and be keen to move in to Project Management.

In return, our client is offering a highly competitive salary from £30,000 – £45,000 plus an extensive and flexible benefits package which includes; private medical insurance, contributory pension scheme etc.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years Project Management experience
  • Demonstrable experience delivering construction projects within an education setting.
  • Hold or be working towards chartered status with a relevant institution (CIOB, APM, RICS etc.)

THE OPPORTUNITY

The ideal candidate will be working within either a Construction Consultancy or perhaps within an Architecture practice, with experience delivering a wide range of projects/services including; planned maintenance, contract administration, condition, defects and measured surveys, clerk of works, project management, production of technical specifications and production of tender documents. Initially the workload with be largely focused around project management and contract administration, however moving forwards you can expect a balanced workload across both project and professional appointments.

This role will suit an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor looking for a new opportunity or an Assistant Surveyor who is close to achieving chartered status. You will be predominantly based from their central Bristol office with travel throughout the South West region when required.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in building surveying or a related field
  • Hold chartered status with a relevant institution (RICS or equivalent)
  • Strong design skills with demonstrable experience working with CAD, experience using REVIT and of BIM modelling is highly desirable
  • Experience of either Fire Engineering or Building Services is highly desirable

THE OPPORTUNITY

Ideally you will have experience working on a mixture of private and public sectors schemes, with a strong understanding of public sector procurement processes. Extensive experience of the JCT contract suite is essential with experience of NEC contracts highly desirable.

This role will suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor with at least 5 years post APC experience. You will be predominantly based from their Bristol office with travel throughout the South West and South Wales region.

In return, our client is offering a highly competitive salary from £45,000 – £65,000 (DOE) plus an extensive and flexible benefits package which includes private medical insurance and a contributory pension scheme among other benefits.

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or a related field
  • MRICS status
  • Ability to deliver own schemes with minimal supervision
