The Role: The Health and Safety is paramount to this role. Health and safety must be prioritised along with cleanliness. Applicants must be Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers and respond promptly to breakdowns, in addition to planning ahead for preventative maintenance. Work closely as a team that can be dynamic, and problem solve. Provide feedback to management regarding improvements to the production process. The physical demands of this role involve manual handling and working in confined spaces.


  • Electrically biased
  • Experienced Maintenance Engineering background
  • Multi-skilled with good mechanical maintenance skills
  • City & Guild BTEC Level 3 or above in Electrical Engineering
  • Apprenticeship within a manufacturing environment (Advantageous)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an automated production facility
  • Experience in working in the packaging/ food/ brewery/ FMCG industry
  • Health and Safety aware

The Role

We are seeking qualified experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers. In order to operate as part of a reliability and maintenance team. Ensuring the continuous manufacturing process by decreasing or eliminating engineering downtime.

Successful Candidates will require

• Must Have Mechanical / Electrical or Multi-Skilled maintenance background from a fast moving Manufacturing background
• NVQ 3, formally apprentice trained or equivalent

•Packaging, Pharma, High volume Manufacturing experience (Ideally)

• Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings
• Experience within electro-mechanical maintenance of medium-speed production plant equipment (Ideally)
• Demonstrable expertise in component and sub-system fault finding and reporting


  • Support the Area Engineering Manager to deliver the engineering strategy that will develop and drive reliability, improve quality, Safety and asset utilisation.
  • Participating within investigating and improving processes, product and quality related issues.
  • Support the Area Engineering Manager to Implement & deliver the engineering strategy that will develop and drive reliability, improve quality, Safety and asset utilisation
  • Supports the implementation of a PPM system that improves asset reliability and better utilises engineering resources
  • Taking ownership of materials and costs related to the discharge of engineering duties

The Company

Our client is a highly renowned FMCG business supplying into high street retailers and alternative markets.

Due to recent growth, the business is now seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor, ideally possessing experience with microbiology. Successful applications will be Food manufacturing experienced, possessing up to date knowledge of BRC standards.

The role

The Lab Supervisor will be responsible for the management of roughly 4 Lab Techs, running the day to day operation of the QC’s ensuring the output is in line with industry and company regulatory standards.


Promoting the company food safety culture and adherence to consistent quality throughout the organisation.

Ensuring the training and competency of direct reports is sufficient and up to date to carry out their duties effectively. Advise the QHSE Manager of training requirements, including specialist training.

Advise on Health & Safety matters relating to the laboratory activities (e.g. COSHH)

Manage staff to ensure full competent and motivated laboratory cover is provided for operational requirements at all times.

Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained in good working order and calibrated against schedule (as provided by the Technical Compliance Manager).

Ensure that appropriate stock of consumables is maintained and place orders as required, being aware of the laboratory budget.

Skills / Experience required

Knowledge and Experience of HACCP (to be provided where necessary)

  • Experience of training others on individual or small group basis
  • Food industry / manufacturing experience is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and cross functionally
  • Ability to communicate / transfer knowledge
  • Disciplined and diligent in maintaining reports, responses and paperwork
  • Urgent and responsive – to customer and business needs
