My client is a specialist construction and civil engineering contractor with a record of fast track, innovative and sustainable delivery solutions. They have earned a reputation for quality and reliability backed up by long-term relationships with many clients and consultants.

Their combined specialisms enable them to offer a wide range of disciplines enabling them to take on new build, fit-out, restoration and refurbishment as well as a comprehensive range of civil engineering services. Projects range from large multi-million pound design & build developments, complex supermarkets and shopping malls through to infrastructure works for residential developments, flood alleviation facilities, bridges and pedestrianisation schemes.

Due to continued growth they are looking for a Site Agent to join them on a permanent basis. Ideally you will hold a professional civil engineering qualification and have a minimum of 5 years previous experience as a Site Engineer. This position would suit someone currently working for a regional contractor who has experience overseeing a team as a number one and is looking to progress in their career. You will be a confident leader and be prepared to travel to projects within an hour of Bristol.

As a result they are looking for a Buyer to join their busy team. You will be experienced in the residential sector, ideally with a volume housebuilder, although this is not essential.  As the Buyer your main responsibility will be to manage an efficient materials purchasing process on sites.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of all procurement duties and exercises.
  • Be aware of new materials to the market which would assist the business.
  • Schedule and place material and plant orders with Group National Suppliers where appropriate or general suppliers, optimising cost and quality.
  • Attend internal pre-start meetings and team meetings as required.
  • Check Architects/Engineers drawings for discrepancies and compliance with the required material specification. Thereafter resolving any queries with the relevant consultants/ Technical Department.
  • Ensure correct specifications are being used.
  • Produce material cost schedules and budgets with cost codes for new sites and as required, and to review material cost codes to ensure budgets are not exceeded.
  • Produce schedules for material enquiries, sending to suppliers for costing and assessing quotations and supplier’s schedules to ensure they are correct, prior to placing the respective orders.
  • Provide site material accruals on a monthly basis.
  • Compile quarterly material valuations for presentation to the Surveyor to be incorporated in the respective valuation meetings.
  • Carry out material on site checks and produce reports as required.

PROJECT MANAGER JOB IN OXFORDSHIRE – Kingston Barnes are recruiting an experienced Project Manager for an exclusive client of ours. Ideally, we are looking for candidates with both new build and refurbishment experience with a background in principal building contracting.

Our client is a top regional contractor with a strong presence throughout the South-West.  They have an excellent track record of delivering quality building projects in a vast array of sectors including Care Homes, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Housing, Leisure, Retail and Industrial from £1m-£15m. They predominantly work throughout the South-West but typically within 1 hour of Bristol. They work on a variety of frameworks and also on negotiated and competitively tendered basis. Their name is synonymous with quality, seamless delivery, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction and collaboration is at the heart of the business, hence why they have such a high rate of repeat business.

In order to be successful in this position it is crucial you have a proven track record of working as a Project Manager for a regional contractor, delivering projects on time and to budget. You will have experience of running design & build projects up to £12m including steel frame & multi storey. A can do attitude and strong work ethic is required as well as an excellent communicator, especially face to face with clients.

Due to a recently awarded contract they are looking for a Project Manager to start in the New Year to run a £5m education project in Oxfordshire. Ideally you will be Wiltshire/Oxfordshire based as they have several projects in the area to follow.
