The Company: With the company’s success continuing to grow steadily, they are looking at expanding the work force on site in order to maintain production levels. They are a market leader within the precision manufacturing industry and are looking forward to another successful year within this marketplace. The business has shown consistent growth and is constantly developing new systems to maintain their competitive advantage in existing markets. The successful Health and Safety Manager will receive support and development to achieve and maintain excellent Health and Safety standards within the business.

The Role:

The company is fully committed to maintaining registration to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 management systems in a continuous improvement environment.

The main job function focuses on leading and improving the Bristol site with respect to all health, safety & environmental matters. This includes driving improvements with ‘hands on’ support for health & safety issues whilst improving the awareness and culture of HS&E protection. This will involve motivating and managing the local site representatives to gain an understanding of the main issues, developing and implementing improvement plans, coordinating / conducting internal audits and legal compliance audits with appropriate monitoring and feedback.

This role also has line management responsibility for the small Facilities management team who are responsible for the general safe upkeep of the Bristol facility and play an important part in the programme to ensure the plant’s ongoing compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

-Health and Safety Management background

-From an FMCG manufacturing background

-Worked within a manufacturing environment

-NEBOSH certificate in Health and Safety

-Experience training and championing Health and Safety initiatives

-Qualified in an Engineering/Manufacturing discipline
