THE COMPANY
A market leading independent construction and property consultancy with an established office in Bristol. They operate throughout the South West providing Building Surveying, Cost Consultancy and Project Management services to a diverse portfolio of high-profile public and private sector clients; predominantly working within the residential sector.
At present, they are seeking a talented Graduate Building Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. Initially you would be working closely with a Senior Building Surveyor on a major workstream due to start shortly with a focus on providing Contract Administration and Condition Surveys for a major client, however moving forwards, you would be given the freedom to focus on the service areas that you enjoy the most, with huge scope to progress within the business to level of Associate and beyond. They have an excellent track record supporting their staff through the APC process, so regardless of whether you have recently graduated or are 1 – 3 years through the APC process they will provide you excellent support in gaining chartered status.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The ideal candidate will be working within either a Construction Consultancy or perhaps within an Architecture practice or Housing Association, with experience delivering contract administration/project management services, ideally you will also have had exposure to at least some of the following as well; planned maintenance, condition, defects and measured surveys, clerk of works, production of technical specifications and production of tender documents
This role will suit either a recent graduate or someone with 1 – 3 years post graduate experience who is looking to progress their career quickly in a friendly supportive environment. You will be predominantly based from their central Bristol office with some travel throughout the South West region when required.
In return, our client is offering a highly competitive salary from £22,000 – £30,000 (DOE) plus an extensive and flexible benefits package.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in building surveying or a related field
- Working towards chartered status with a relevant institution (RICS or equivalent)
- Strong Project Management/Contract Administration skills
