A leading regional Construction Consultancy our client were established nearly 30 years ago, they are a small close knit team delivering a range of services including Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Health & Safety Consultancy. Their work spans a diverse portfolio of high-profile public and private sector clients; working on projects in Commercial, Industrial, Leisure, Retail, Education, Healthcare and Residential sectors.

At present, they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis due to the continued growth of the business. You can expect to be leading your own projects initially, however moving forwards you may be asked to work as part of a team on larger commissions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The ideal candidate will be working within a Construction Consultancy delivering their own projects but perhaps looking to move into an environment where you can quickly progress your career, alternatively you could be working for a main contractor and looking to move in to cost consultancy. Ideally you will have experience working on a mixture of private and public sectors schemes, with a strong understanding of public sector procurement processes. Extensive experience of the JCT contract suite is essential with experience of NEC contracts highly desirable.

This role will suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor with at least 5 years post APC experience. You will be predominantly based from their Bristol office with travel throughout the South West and South Wales region.

In return, our client is offering a highly competitive salary from £45,000 – £65,000 (DOE) plus an extensive and flexible benefits package which includes private medical insurance and a contributory pension scheme among other benefits.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or a related field
  • MRICS status
  • Ability to deliver own schemes with minimal supervision
  • Experience acting as Employers Agent/Contract Administrator

Due to an increase in new developments in the South West, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them based from their office in Bristol.

As an integral part of the surveying team you will be required to oversee and control all aspects of costs.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare full enquiry pack, collating all tender information, ensuring fully compliant tender packs are issued.
  • Preparing tenders and placing sub-contract orders
  • Assemble Health and Safety Policies, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Compile sub-contract orders
  • Attend pre-start meeting, handover completed procurement pack to site team.
  • Subcontract Payments and Issue contra-charges as appropriate.
  • Highlight claims for additional works outside Budget Estimate Summary and report to Chief Quantity Surveyor and settle all final accounts expediently after works complete.
  • Carry out valuations and monthly progress checklist on site for all sites.
  • Input progress on valuation system.
  • Prepare sub-contract accruals

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have previous experience working for a residential developer or contractor.
